This is a permanent full time position located in the Chicago Loop, for a talented Systems Engineer. A successful candidate in this position will have the ability to troubleshoot simple Operating System issues, configure and deploy both Linux and Windows based Operating Systems. They must be able to demonstrate a high level of proficiency at solving technical problems and engineering unique solutions.
Core Responsibilities Include:
- Configuring and managing user access in a Windows Domain.
- Ensure adequate coverage for the 24x7x365 NOC environment to maintain 100% compliance with Service Level Agreements.
- Documentation (VISIO & Word)
- Managing the Change Management process to provide for planned, effective and successful infrastructure changes to the production environment
- Participate in change management, incident review, and root cause analysis for all production deployments, maintenance's and outages.
- Work with internal teams to maintain, develop, and improve operational processes and procedures with the goal of improving the customer experience.
- On-Call rotation as scheduled and/or needed.
Non-technical requirements:
- Self-managed (should be able to prioritize projects based on criticality.)
- Ability to figure something out on their own using resources at hand (books, google, etc..)
- Ability to troubleshoot issues over the phone with end users.
Technical Requirements:
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, subnets and DNS.
- 2-5 Years of related experience
- Experience with DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
